WVU is looking interesting. Truck is stepping up and scoring, and so is Flowers. Jones is living up to Huggins' claims. I hope Pepper, Jennings and Killicli continue to develop. Jennings looks vastly improved from his brief minutes last year. Category: NCAAB Vote for the most intelligent play of the tourneyMarch 18, 2010 3:35 pm

I think Marquette scares me as much as anyone in the east bracket...... Category: Fantasy College Basketball West Virginia-a favorite to win the Big EastNovember 10, 2009 11:39 pm
With the amount of talent West Virginia has coming back this season, they are without question a favorite to win the 2009-2010 Big East title. With returning forwards such as Da'Sean Butler, Devin Ebanks, Wellington Smith, John Flowers, and Kevin Jones, it is hard to imagine how coach Bob Huggins plans to manage the rotation. With that being said, Huggins is in an envious position from the other Big East coaches perspectives with that sort of talent returning on the frontline. The only star player the team lost from a year ago was senior guard, Alex Ruoff. Ruoff was a terrific player who was a joy to watch throughout his four year career. The shooting guard positon vacated by Ruoff will be a tough one to fill, however WVU has the personnel to make up for the loss. Ruoff was also the last remaining key piece to the teams that went to the Elite 8 and the Sweet 16 in back to back years (2005, 2006), respectively. Joe Mazzula, who returns a year removed from season ending shoulder surgery, is going to be one of the player's called upon to fill the void left by Ruoff. He is a threat from beyond the three-point line and also has the potential to blow by the defense and get to the rim. He is a good assist man as well. West Virginia is currently ranked 8th in the AP coaches poll. With that being said, it is pretty clear that big things are expected from this year's team. I am really looking forward to the upcoming season and I hope the team can live up to their high expectations. Category: NCAAB |
